So over the top you couldn't imagine?

I have just witnessed the most appalling abuse of civil rights and mistreatment of a 16 year old child I ever want to see. It was on a TV programme called Juvenile Lock Up broadcast here in the UK on Sky. This 16 year old child was in solitary confinement in a US prison and was playing up (as teenagers do). He had a broom, because he'd been on cleaning duty before being confined to solitary and decided to smash his cell up with it. So what did they do? Well, not what I would do (and I have been a prison officer in the UK for more than 20 years). I'd have let him out and talked to him (a broom is not a dangerous weapon!) They decided to get six burly men as part of some kind of swat team to raid his cell and drag him out and strap him into a device in another solitary cell that looked very like a wheelchair. Then they all went back to the staffroom and congratulated each other on a job well done, describing it as totally stressful! Morons! Why be a prison officer if you can't cope with a 16 year old kid wielding a broom? Words fail me.
