My dog wont stop pulling while we walk him!!?

I have a chunky Labrador, he is quite a big dog and is very strong. He ALWAYS pulls when we walk him...we've used a choke chain..it worked at 1st but now it doest affect him. Anyone know how to stop this...except from taking him to a trainer???
