Do you know anything about "hate-speech" laws? would you protest if attempts were made to exempt religion....?

So-called "hate-speech" laws would violate our First Amendment here in the United States. It would violate the freedom of speech. It would violate the freedom of religion. It is the actions, not the speech that needs to be regulated appropriately. And, I believe that such laws already exist. Violence is not speech. Speech is not violent. There are too many people who believe that they can be hurt by what is said. I have yet to see the blood or the bruises caused by free speech.
