I want advice from those of you who have suffered insomnia and have overcome it. How did you get over it?
I have been suffering insomnia for about 2 weeks now. In the past I had suffered shorter bouts of about a few days but overcame it. First I tried some herbal tablets and some chamomile tea which were not very effective. I tried melatonin as well. I even when to the doctor and was prescribed some xanax. While it does get me to sleep, I still do not sleep long enough and feel groggy the next day. I have even used a relaxation tape for sleep to listen to at bedtime. It has helped me doze but not stay asleep as of yet. I'm really not wanting to get hooked on sleeping pills as I have read some horror stories. Any advice from anyone who overcame insomnia or has some knowlege about it would be appreciated. Help!
